Come join us at the Scenic Ozarks Artist Retreat!

Heartland Art Club and Michael McClure are joining together for a very special offering to artists!  You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to paint in a beautiful setting in the Ozarks and work with nationally ranked artists as mentors.

The retreat will be located at Michael McClure’s property, Ananda Kanan or "The Garden of Bliss", 3157 Co Rd 1670, Willow Springs, MO 65793.  The dates are Friday, October 27, 2023, with arrival beginning at 4 p.m. and departure on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday will feature Plein Air painting opportunities at and around the retreat center and on the waterways.  Mentors will be available while you are painting and will present programming in the evenings for your enjoyment and education. The mentors will conduct a learning critique on Sunday before departure.

The mentors will be:

  • Nyle Gordon

  • Jane Mudd

  • Shawn Cornell

  • Michael McClure

  • More to Come!

The goal of this retreat is to provide a range of art education and painting techniques to participants in a spectacular setting in the Ozarks at the height of the autumn color. The mentors have divergent approaches to Plein
Air and you will be able to work with the artist of your choice while painting.

Michael McClure’s retreat center is a lovely and peaceful place to come together with other artists for a weekend.  The accommodations are comfortable and spacious.  The grounds will be alive with color the last weekend of October.  There are several lodging choices with breakfasts and dinners included.  They will be served in a large dining hall. The mentors will have paintings on display in the gallery space.  The educational offerings will take place in the common area of the lodge facility.

This is truly a fabulous opportunity at very affordable pricing.  We are limiting registration to the first 25 participants.  If this seems like something you would enjoy, do not hesitate to enroll.  As word gets out, the event will sell out.
