MEMBERS’ GALLERY - GROUP of 8 SHOW

Welcome to Heartland Art Club’s Members’ Gallery. The Members’ Gallery caters exclusively to members of Heartland Art Club with the specific purpose of providing them a chance to participate in one of four annual, eight persons, three-month long shows known as the GROUP of 8 SHOW. This unique opportunity, which few (if any) other Art Associations offer their membership is yet another reason for being or becoming part of the Heartland Art Club organization.

The Basics of Who, How, When, What

WHO: This opportunity is exclusively available to Heartland Art Club Members, no exceptions.

HOW: It’s a first come first serve basis (once per 12 month cycle). Once the application process is opened for requests, all a member needs to do is either fill out and submit the form below or send an email to: heartlandmembers@gmail.com with the following month show’s listed in preference: April, July, October, January. Once one of these month’s availability has been filled by eight applicants, those applicants will be notified of their show date and their next steps.

WHEN: Requests to participate in a Members’ Gallery show will open at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Any request sent prior to this date and time will not be accepted. The Members’ Gallery will change out every 3 months with the first show beginning Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Beginning show dates are: April 10, 2024 • July 10, 2024 • October 9, 2024 • January 8, 2025

WHAT: Wall space provided to participating artists is 5 to 6.5 feet in length and 8 feet in height (spaces will be assigned by the gallery staff). Below are just a few samples for the size and number (5 maximum) of pieces each artist may display: 

(all measurements must include the frame)
• One extra large piece (sizes from 48x38 to 84x60)
• Two large pieces (sizes from 32x26 to 38x38)
• Three medium pieces (sizes from 24x20 to 20x32)
• four to five small pieces (sizes from 12x10 to 19x22) 

The gallery staff will hang the show and reserves the right to place into storage any works that they feel crowd an artist’s wall space or for any other reason. Artist are welcome to bring in additional works if something on their wall sells. Once an artist’s wall is hung, no substitutes can be made unless a piece is sold.

A small wall will be dedicated to displaying the names, photo, contact info and short bio of each current show’s participating artists.

Summary

• All Heartland Art Club members are invited to submit a request for Heartland Art Club’s Members’ Gallery, held every three months with the first show starting Wednesday, April, 12 2023.

• One display per accepted applied member per 12 month cycle

• This is available only to Heartland Art Club Member’s. If you are not yet a member please join here first.

• The securing of wall space in the Members’ Gallery is based on a first come first serve system.

Request opens: Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 6:00 a.m. CST. Any request sent prior to this date and time will not be accepted.

The Details for Accepted Artists

Exhibit Details (Please read carefully)

  • There is only a 25% commission to the gallery on sold works! 

  • There is 3% fee for credit/debit card transactions which will be deducted from the sale of any artwork.

  • All submitted artwork is ACCEPTED unless you are notified. This is not a juried show. All works must be for sale.

  • All work must be original.

  • Heartland Art Club reserves the right to disqualify works that do not conform to the submission guidelines, works that are considered to be offensive by the gallery, or for any other reason.

  • Heartland Art Club cannot be responsible for typos in your submission.

  • You will receive confirmation of your submission via email.

  • Artwork drop-off dates and times: The week before your three month scheduled display: 
    Wednesday - Saturday from 12:30 - 5pm

  • Artwork Pick-up dates and times: The week after your three month scheduled display:
    Wednesday - Saturday from 12:30 - 5pm

  • Sold Works: Payment for sold works will be mailed no later than one month after your three month scheduled display is over.


Artwork Requirements

  • Two-dimensional or three-dimensional REPRESENTATIONAL works only, including photography

  • Any artistic style or medium 


Framing Requirements

  • Professional gallery framing. Please clean glass, check corners, and look for other damage to matting, framing, and glass.

  • Gallery wrapped canvases without frames are okay with finished sides and wire hangers. Gallery wrapped canvases less than 1.5” in depth not accepted.

  • Only wire hangers, no sawtooth hangers

  • Must include printable inventory form on back of painting

  • Artwork will be hung by gallery volunteers


Delivery Requirements

Artwork may be shipped or hand delivered to Heartland Art Club. If shipping, you must include a pre-printed paid return label. Make sure to include inventory form to be taped to back of artwork.
