How to edit your references in Photoshop and in print for those who do not know Photoshop.
How to identify, consolidate and create an accurate value pattern.
How to mix a beautiful palette of flesh tones.
How to create an accurate drawing.
How to see beyond your photo reference and create a work of art.

Artist Tina Garrett
Tina is a two-time ARC Salon Purchase Prize Winner, three-time Oil Painters of America Online Showcase awardee, an International Artist Magazine People & Figures Grand Prize winner and a proud Portrait Society of America Cecelia Beaux Forum Mentor and will join the staff at the International Art of Portrait Conference in Orlando in 2020.
In 2012, after a career as a freelance cartoon illustrator and graphic designer, the Scottsdale Artists’ School awarded Tina the first of two merit scholarships based on a handful of self-taught pastel portraiture, and she began learning how to paint, dedicating herself to the full-time practice of understanding oil painting.
By 2014 Tina earned the first of two Purchase Awards in the 11th and 12th International ARC Salons. Tina’s works, “City Blues” and “String of Pearls” are now part of the Art Renewal Center's renowned permanent collection. Tina’s recognitions also include multiple OPA Online Showcase 1st and other prizes, The International Artist Magazine People & Figures Grand Prize and the NOAPS Best of America People’s Choice and 2nd Place prizes.
In 2015 Tina earned a designation of ARC Associate Living Master from the Art Renewal Center and a Master Artist designation from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters’ Society and in 2018 Tina earned a FASO BoldBrush Signature Artist designation. Thrice exhibiting at the Museum of Modern Art Europe (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain, and the Salmagundi Club in New York City, Tina’s works have participated in The ARC Salon, Mod Portrait, the OPA National and Eastern Regionals, the NOAPS Best of America, the Salmagundi Member’s Show, the Lore Degenstein National Juried Figurative and Drawing Exhibition, The Urban Aspect Juried Exhibition, The Portrait Society of America Members Only Exhibition, The Go Wild! Exhibition in Ireland and the Top 100 Figurativas at the MEAM in Barcelona, Spain — Tina’s works have exhibited alongside great works by artists she admires including Pamela Wilson, David Laffel, Arantzazu Martinez, Daniel Gerhartz, Nick Alm and others.
Tina is proud to be a faculty artist at the Portrait Society of America 22nd Annual Art of the Portrait Conference in Orlando Florida and is sponsored by Fine Art Studio Online, Gamblin Paints and Rosemary & Co. Brushes. Tina is a contributing writer to Fine Art Views and the Art Renewal Center ARChive, publishes a blog and monthly newsletter, and has been featured in editorial coverage by Southwest Art Magazine, American Art Collector Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur, Poets & Artists Magazine and International Artist Magazine as well as various podcasts. Art of the West Magazine featured an article on Tina and six of her works in the September/October 2019 issue.
