ALLEN KRIEGSHAUSER, a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, has been painting for over 50 years. He is a nationally known painter particularly for his expressive use of color and appealing compositions. He was recently a featured artist in “Plein Air Magazine,” “Arts in America” on PBS, and numerous other publications.“I never met a color I didn’t like so my challenge is to make them harmonize on a single surface.” I prefer to paint directly from life with deep defined shadows, created by a strong light source, scenes with the potential for movement through composition, and bold, directional brush strokes. Allen actively teaches workshops and has competed in Plein Air Events around the country for the past 17 years. Recent events have included: Plein Air Richmond, Door County, Northbrook, IL, Solomons Island, Easels in Fredrick, Wayne, PA, Marble Falls, TX, PA Texas, and Steelville, MO.
